Careers in health and fitness include teaching or coaching at schools or other programs for youth. Graduates in this field are in demand due to critical shortages of K–12 classroom teachers. According to the U.S. Department of Education, about 2.5 million new teachers will be needed by 2010, and Washington alone will need about 40,000 new teachers.
