Hispanics are at present the largest minority in the United States, and Spanish-speaking graduates have the advantage of using their language skills in practical and comprehensive applications.

Knowledge of the Spanish language is also useful in international businesses or organizations that interact with the world's many populations who speak Spanish. With additional study, a major in Spanish can lead to work as a Spanish teacher at the high school or college/university level.
