Advanced Placement (AP) Credit
If you have scored 3 or higher on College Board Advanced Placement (AP) examinations, you may be granted credit at Washington State University. The Educational Testing Service offers these exams in a variety of subject areas at locations around the country.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam Credit
Washington State University awards a minimum of 6 semester credits for each higher level pass with grades of 4 or better up to a maximum of 30 semester credits. The Office of Admissions determines allocation of these credits to general education requirements (GERs), while each academic department determines appropriate assignment to specific major or supporting course requirements

Running Start
The University supports Washington’s Running Start program and other similar programs, in which you can take courses for both high school and college credit. If you wish to apply Running Start credits (or other college credits earned prior to high school graduation) toward a degree at Washington State University, have an official transcript of your college-level work sent to the Office of Admissions. Follow the steps for applying as an incoming freshman.
