Adult student admission requirements.
Adult freshmen admissions policy
Students who've been away from the classroom for extended periods of time often have different needs when they return. Reflecting those needs, the process of applying for admission is slightly different.
Adult freshmen are defined as applicants who will be 25 years of age or older on or before the first day of classes for the term in which they are applying. They must also have fewer than 27 semester/40 quarter hours of transfer coursework.
Application requirements:
In accordance with policy set by the Higher Education Coordinating Board, students 25 years of age or older are considered for admission on the basis of alternative criteria.
To be considered, adult freshmen applicants must submit:
A high-school diploma with a minimum 2.50 cumulative grade point average, a passing score on the GED certification test or a higher credential, and ONE of the following:
- Satisfactory scores on the SAT or ACT test
- A narrative addressing these topics:
Why is a college education important to you?
Why are you interested in attending WSU?
How have you demonstrated the characteristics necessary to be successful in college?
- A resume covering the period since you left high school, or the last five years, whichever is shorter
OR
