Future Students

Admission

Former student admission requirements.

Welcome back!

We are pleased you are interested in returning to complete your degree at Washington State University. As a student formerly enrolled at the University, we understand that may be different from those of other applicants. To help you make a decision on the best way to complete your degree, we have put together information about several options. Please note that submitting your application by January 31 for fall semester or November 15 for spring is strongly encouraged for best course selection.

If you were previously enrolled at Washington State University during a fall or spring semester, you are considered a former student returning (FSR). If you attended only a summer session at WSU, and applied through the Summer Session Office, you are not considered an FSR. In that case, you will need to complete a regular admissions application, not a former WSU student application. If you were absent just one semester, no further application is required. You can contact your former advisor to plan your next steps.

Select the option below that best fits your education situation:

Former students returning who have attended other institutions since last enrolled at Washington State University must submit an official transcript directly from each institution attended.

Former students returning whose previous academic record at Washington State University is unsatisfactory will be required to follow established academic reinstatement procedures prior to admission.
