Standardized test requirements.
Students applying for admission as freshmen must provide their official test scores from either the SAT or ACT standardized tests.
Frequently asked questions
Is it better to take the SAT instead of the ACT?
No. WSU accepts either test and treats them equally.
If I take the ACT or SAT examinations more than once, will the University use my highest math and reading scores?
The University uses your highest scores for math and critical reading even if they are from exams taken at different sessions.
How do I submit my scores?
Please have your official test scores sent directly from the testing agency. Indicate on your test that you’d like your scores sent directly to Washington State University.
What campus code should I use?
All WSU campuses use the same codes:
- SAT, code 4705
- ACT, code 4482
What about the WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning)?
WASL scores are not used in the Washington State University admission process. The University is collecting data on the WASL to determine how its results could influence the process. WSU will then decide if and how the WASL can be used in admission decisions.
