Transfer student guide
You are considered a transfer student if you have enrolled in a regionally accredited college or university after the summer following your high-school graduation. Running Start students or students who have completed college coursework while in high school should complete the freshman admission application.

Certifying your major
Some popular programs (such as business) have additional requirements beyond admission to WSU that students must meet before taking upper-division courses.
Be sure to check with the department to see what is required to certify in your major.
Graduation requirements
Junior Writing Portfolio
All students at WSU are required to complete a writing portfolio after reaching 60 credits. You can use papers you wrote for courses at your previous college in your portfolio—be sure to keep copies of all your papers so you can submit your best work.
See the guidelines for completing the writing portfolio for more information.
General education and degree requirements
Check the WSU General Catalog for other graduation requirements; all students must meet criteria as set forth in the catalog.
The state Higher Education Coordinating Board provides an outline of your rights and responsibilities as a transfer student and our responsibilities to you (PDF).
