What you'll be doing.

Day 1

12:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Check in, Gannon-Goldsworthy residence halls

3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Mathematics placement exam

Please note:  Calculators are not allowed. A $25.00 testing fee will automatically be billed to your student account if you take this exam (this fee pays for the testing service and is not included within your orientation/matriculation fee).

5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Dinner and evening activities

  • Meet your orientation counselor
  • University welcome
  • Tour

Day 2

7:00 – 8:30 a.m.

Breakfast

Writing placement exam

Morning workshops

  • General Education, Academic Advising, and Registration
  • Pre-Advising with Academic Colleges/Depts.

Lunch and afternoon workshops

  • Initial Schedule Planner
  • Living & Dining at WSU
  • Education Abroad Opportunities
  • College Costs
  • Academic Success
  • University Faculty Reception

Dinner with orientation group

Evening activities

  • Transitions
  • Connect with your parent(s)
  • Student Recreation Center activities

Day 3

7:00 – 8:00 a.m.

Breakfast

Morning and afternoon activities

  • Faculty advising session
  • Obtain your Cougar Card (WSU identification)
  • Diversity activity and small group discussion
  • Lunch with your orientation counselor group

2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Register for classes

3:10 p.m.

Closing program

3:30 p.m.
