Check your eligibility for the Cougar Academic Award.
The Cougar Academic Award (CAA) is WSU's scholarship award for nonresident students and is based on a combination of your unweighted grade point average (GPA) and SAT or ACT test scores. Students with residency in the United States outside the state of Washington and entering the WSU Pullman campus as freshmen are eligible.**
At the higher level ($9000 award), the Cougar Academic Award serves as the WSU Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) scholarship. Because at WSU they are one and the same, students will not receive both a CAA and a WUE award.
Whether you are eligible for this particular award or not, be sure to also fill out the scholarship application when you apply for admission. It gives you the opportunity to be considered for more than 700 other scholarship programs.
**Sorry, transfer students and students admitted into the Pharm.D. and veterinary medicine professional programs are not eligible for this award or for renewal.
