Scholarships & Finances

See how much aid you could receive.

In addition to scholarships, Washington State University students can take advantage of financial aid offered by federal, state, and local programs.

Use our financial aid estimator to calculate the aid you might be eligible to receive while attending WSU. (Please note that results are estimated, and do not guarantee receipt of aid.)

Important information

The result you receive is intended to assist in financial planning. It is not a guaranteed award package or commitment of aid.

  • Actual student aid eligibility is determined through the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is typically done in January of the year you plan to enroll. In some cases the federal calculation of need may limit the types of aid Washington State University can offer.
  • This estimator reflects Washington State University’s aid packaging practices, which may differ from other colleges. Actual awards for admitted students are determined once the FAFSA is received.
  • Outside scholarships and other educational resources will be considered part of the award package.
  • The accuracy of the information you provide for the estimator affects the accuracy of your results.
This estimator does not determine every source of aid.

How It Works

This estimator is based on a calculation of need that is done through a simplified calculation of your expected family contribution and the packaging guidelines (how grants and other aid are combined) that Washington State University uses for admitted students.

The calculations are done using the parameters for a student entering Washington State University in August 2008. If you plan to enroll 2008-09 or later, you should still be able to get a reasonable approximation of aid, provided there are no major changes in your family's financial situation between now and the start of your enrollment. Keep in mind that costs and federal funding guidelines may fluctuate from year to year.
