Not all awards are based on grades and scores, so be sure to apply.

Examples of award programs covered by just one application:

Academic merit

University Achievement Award
For Washington high school students who meet certain GPA and SAT/ACT requirements. For example, if you have a 3.40 GPA and a 1090 or higher on your combined critical reading and math SAT score or an ACT score of at least 23. You can see if you qualify here.

Academic Achievement/Diversity Scholarship
Based on academic strength, demonstrated leadership skills, commitment to volunteer work and community service, and a high level of financial need.

Glenn Terrell Presidential Scholarship
Based on good grades and exceptional performance on standardized tests.

National Merit Corporation Scholarship
For National Merit finalists who list Washington State University as their first choice.

Civic involvement and leadership

Washington State Alumni Leadership Awards
For incoming freshmen who demonstrate leadership potential.

Hispanic Academic Achievers Program (HAAP)
Based on a comprehensive review. For freshmen who are graduates of these HAAP schools: Davis, Eisenhower, and Stanton Academy.

TRiO Possibilities
For entering freshmen and transfer students who have graduated from one of the 8 WSU Upward Bound participating schools: Omak HS, Okanogan HS, Columbia HS, Mary Walker HS, Inchelium HS, Wellpinit HS, Eisenhower HS, and White Swan HS.  Also based on a comprehensive review of grades, essay, and commitment or potential to make a difference in their family, community, or field of study.

College or field of study

Dean's Merit Scholarships
Awards from the College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences (CAHNRS). For certified CAHNRS majors or students who are interested in CAHNRS degree programs and have a CAHNRS faculty/staff advisor in their field of study.

Neuroscience Scholarships
Certified neuroscience or non-certified pre-med or pre-vet students with a strong interest in neuroscience (at Pullman campus only).

Science Opportunity Scholarships
College of Sciences awards for applicants with a faculty advisor from the college in their field of study and working toward a major in the College of Sciences.

College of Engineering and Architecture
Must be working toward a degree in engineering.

College of Education
Undergraduate and graduate students who are certified into a major within the college are eligible.

College of Business
Available to those in a certified major in the college or indicating a strong interest in business.

College of Liberal Arts Excellence Scholarships
Awarded on a variety of criteria, including academic performance, talents, and community involvement. Some awards may carry preferences with regard to major, special talent, or other characteristics.
