Future Cougars of Color Scholars Program

Who is eligible to attend and receive scholarships?

The Future Cougars of Color Scholars Program is for high school seniors who have applied to Washington State University and have been offered admission by January 31.

Eligibility

To be eligible for participation in Future Cougars of Color, do the following by January 31:

  1. Complete an undergraduate application for freshman admission and send it with official SAT or ACT scores and high school transcripts.
  2. Complete the University's academic scholarship application.
  3. Be accepted (i.e., offered admission) to WSU as a freshman.

All students who meet the above criteria will be eligible to register for the event.

You are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Though it is not part of consideration for the FCOC program, completing the FAFSA will ensure that you are considered for other financial aid opportunities, such as state and federal grants, student loans, and work-study, in addition to WSU scholarships.

Find the scholarship and admission applications at www.apply.wsu.edu.

Registration and event attendance

Space at the Future Cougars of Color event is limited. Though we do our best to provide for everyone who wishes to attend, being eligible does not guarantee a spot at the event. Registration will open in early January, 2010.

You must attend the entire scholarship/visitation event to receive a scholarship through the Future Cougars of Color Scholars Program. However, if you can’t attend, you are still eligible for many other scholarships from Washington State University.
