How would you like to be the top priority on the agenda of a professor of both pharmacotherapy and health policy who has contributed to advances in the fields of pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry, and women’s health? That’s where you stand with professor Tracy Skaer.
Even though she has received national research awards, Dr. Skaer says, "Excellence in instruction is the highest form of academic scholarship. Ultimately, instructional effectiveness depends not on what the instructor did, but on what the students are able to do long after the course has ended."
Dr. Skaer has been selected by the National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression to study pharmacologic treatment patterns among children and teens with depressive illness. She is currently collaborating on a study that hopes to break new ground in demonstrating the cognitive benefits of estrogens that are derived from dietary products such as soy.
